How to choose a children’s bike
Choose a children’s bike according to the child’s height, inside leg measurement and riding experience rather than age alone. The right size helps a young rider reach the handlebar, stop safely and control the bike with confidence. Balance bikes and 12–16 inch models suit younger children, followed by 20 and 24 inch wheels as they grow.
Consider bike weight, brake type, number of gears and chain protection. A lighter bike is easier for a child to handle, while properly adjusted saddle and handlebar positions improve comfort and control. A correctly sized helmet and suitable protective equipment are recommended for every ride.
