All-terrain bikes include city, touring and hybrid bikes. City bikes are designed for urban riding, usually have relatively few gears and are equipped with a rack, front and rear lights or reflectors. Touring bikes are slightly longer than city bikes, but still offer a relatively upright riding position. They are ideal for long journeys and carrying larger loads.
These bikes have more gears and are equipped with racks, front and rear lights or reflectors. Hybrid bikes combine features of mountain and touring bikes. They may have a front suspension fork but no rack or other accessories that could restrict manoeuvrability on forest trails or hilly terrain.
Their geometry is similar to that of touring bikes, although the rear triangle is often shorter. They usually have 28” wheels and medium-tread tyres, providing good grip off-road and efficient rolling on hard or paved surfaces. The correct frame size for all-terrain and hybrid bikes is selected according to the rider's height and inside leg measurement.
